Crypto Card Security: How We Protect Your Funds and Data

Your card balance, crypto deposits and personal data are protected by layered security: AES-256 encryption, TLS 1.3 connections, two-factor authentication, continuous fraud monitoring and a minimal-data policy. Here's exactly how it works.

Multi-Layer Security Architecture

Every layer of our system is designed to protect your funds and your privacy

Strong Encryption

Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 — the standard used by banks and governments worldwide. Every connection to WaldenPay uses TLS 1.3, so your data is never readable in transit.

AES-256 + TLS 1.3

Minimal Data Collection

We collect only what the service needs to run — no behavioral profiling, no data sales, no unnecessary personal details. What we don't collect can never be leaked.

Privacy by design

Secure Infrastructure

Hosted on enterprise-grade infrastructure with 24/7 monitoring, DDoS protection, intrusion detection and automatic failover systems.

Built on Industry Security Standards

The frameworks and standards our systems and partners follow

PCI DSS-Compliant Processing

Card issuance and payment processing run through partners that follow PCI DSS, the payment card industry's standard for handling cardholder data.

Modern Cryptography

AES-256, TLS 1.3, RSA-4096 and SHA-256 — current, widely audited standards recommended by NIST, with no home-rolled cryptography anywhere in the stack.

GDPR-Aligned Data Handling

Data minimization, purpose limitation and retention controls aligned with European data protection principles — collect less, keep it shorter, protect it better.

Security Best Practices for Users

How you can enhance your own privacy and security when using WaldenPay

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Turn on 2FA in your account settings. It's the single most effective step against account takeovers — even a stolen password won't be enough to get in.

Use a Strong, Unique Password

Use a password manager to generate a unique password for your WaldenPay account. Reused passwords are the most common cause of compromised accounts.

Watch Out for Phishing

We will never ask for your password or 2FA codes by email or chat. Always check the URL before logging in — see our phishing guide for the warning signs.

Send Crypto from a Personal Wallet

Transfer crypto from a wallet you control rather than directly from exchanges. It keeps your exchange accounts separate from your day-to-day spending.

Security FAQ

Common questions about how WaldenPay keeps you safe

Is WaldenPay safe to use?

Yes. WaldenPay protects accounts with AES-256 encryption for stored data, TLS 1.3 for all connections, two-factor authentication and continuous fraud monitoring. Card processing runs through payment partners that follow PCI DSS requirements, the industry standard for handling card data.

What personal data does WaldenPay collect?

Only what is needed to run the service: your email address, account credentials and transaction records required for payment processing. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

What happens if my card details are compromised?

You can freeze the card instantly from your dashboard and issue a replacement. Because the card is virtual and isolated from your crypto wallet, a compromised card number never exposes your crypto funds or deposit addresses.

Does WaldenPay support two-factor authentication?

Yes. You can enable 2FA on your account, and we strongly recommend it. Combined with a unique password, 2FA blocks the vast majority of account takeover attempts.

Are my crypto funds held securely?

Deposits are processed through secure wallet infrastructure with segregated hot and cold storage and continuous monitoring. Card balances are held separately from crypto deposits, limiting exposure in either direction.

How is a virtual card safer than using my bank card online?

A virtual card isolates your spending: merchants never see your bank account or main card details. If a merchant is breached, you freeze one card and move on — your bank account, salary and savings are never in the blast radius.
